Pélagie (Pagie) Beeson is Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, with a joint appointment in the Department of Neurology. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Kansas, and her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. Her research interests include the study of the cognitive processes and neural substrates that support spoken and written language, and the nature and treatment of language impairments associated with stroke and progressive neurological disease.
Dr. Beeson is a fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and former chair of the ASHA Special Interest Division 2: Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders.
